Trainee Housing Solutions Officer (Homelessness) – Ref: THSO
Fixed term 12-month contract
Starting salary £35,555.52 pa
This is a great opportunity for you to join Broxbourne Borough Council’s Homelessness Solutions Team at a trainee level, on a fixed term basis. We pride ourselves on being an innovative and ambitious team. In this role you will work alongside dedicated experienced colleagues, interviewing, and assessing those who are at a risk of being homeless. You will be managing a case load of clients, working collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to provide solutions. This is a varied, rewarding and challenging role.
If you want to apply to be part of our team, you should ideally have previous experience working within a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation, although transferable skills would be considered. You should also be highly motivated, with a genuine interest in helping people. Previous experience working in a customer facing role is essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication and a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Fluent spoken English skills are also essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations with clients and dealing with their expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required.
