Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Innovation team at UHCW, to help drive the innovation agenda forward. The Innovation team enable the development and implementation of innovative solutions for the benefit of our patients and communities. This role provides the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation and change, to have a positive impact upon patient care, staff wellbeing and citizen wellbeing across Coventry and Warwickshire.
We are looking for highly personable individuals with an open, creative and enquiring mind to embrace the art of the possible. Excellent organisation and a sense of curiosity are key to this role. The post holder will have responsibility for managing innovation projects.

The areas of focus for these roles are: supporting the processes for managing the identification, development, implementation and commercialisation of innovative ideas from staff across the Trust, facilitating the identification and scoping of challenges to be solved innovatively, and supporting evaluations and implementation of innovative solutions. All three areas of focus will involve facilitating conversations with a wide range of stakeholders to surface and understand contexts, challenges, constraints and needs in regards to new technology, products or processes.
As well as facilitating brainstorming and design sessions to generate and refine ideas. This will involve working closely with all staff groups across the Trust, and partner organisations, as well as continuing to build collaborations with academia, the Health Innovation Network, and industry.
UHCW is proud of the UHCW Innovation Hub - a space open to all staff and partners which allows collaboration and creativity to thrive. This role will support the day to day running and development of this space, to ensure it is used to its full potential. This will also involve contributing to the delivery of innovation masterclasses, and supporting the assessment and implementation of suitable innovative ideas from elsewhere in the local innovation ecosystem.

• Act as first point of contact for innovation queries and the day-to-day co-ordination of innovation projects across the Trust, including supporting the activities related to the delivery of the Trust innovation strategy.
• Assess ideas disclosed to the Trust by following existing innovation pipeline processes which the post-holder will be expected to continually develop and improve.
• Develop and use specialist knowledge and experience around innovation management, design theory and commercialisation to progress projects from a range of clinical and non-clinical areas appropriately and choose how best to progress each project by analysing various options.
• Liaise with clinical colleagues around the suitability of ideas and progression into a commercialised product or implemented change.
• Liaise with suppliers to understand their ability to support product development, or to fully understand their solution.
• Create bespoke project plans for each project, play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of activities relating to these projects. This could involve daily communication across the project partners and the supervision of project activities to ensure documentation is generated, collated and filed, and report against progress.
• Follow organisation policy and governance processes for each project, seeking advice from the Innovation Lead where needed.
• Undertake research and evaluation related to the development of new technologies, which includes desk research on existing products/services and the generation of new data within focus groups and via questionnaires.
