Summary
A fabulous afternoon nanny role is required in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
Starting as soon as possible, this friendly, active and sporty family is looking for someone kind, caring, energetic and fun who will fit into their daily lives.
Although Mum and Dad work from home some of the time, this position will be sole charge as they both have busy jobs.
The hours of the role will be 13.30-18.30, Monday to Friday (25 hours/week). There could be additional ad hoc hours in the school holidays and occasional evening babysitting, which would be mutually agreed and paid as overtime. The role could also work as a three day position (Tuesday-Thursday). The salary would be adjusted for this.
You will be caring for four happy children – three boys aged 15, 13 and 10 and their little sister aged 8. The children enjoy all kinds of sports, reading, cooking and arts and crafts. They also like going to the park and other fun activities.
During term time, you will collect the children from school and take them to any after school clubs. You will help oversee any homework, reading and spellings required.
In the school holidays, the parents would like their children to attend playdates and outings to allow them to socialise with other children, always ensuring their happiness and safety.
Before you collect the children from school each day, there will be some time to help keep them organised. Since they employ a weekly cleaner, this role will involve nursery duties only, but some help to keep the house running smoothly would be appreciated – emptying the dishwasher, ensuring all rooms are tidy at the end of the day, etc.
In addition to general care of the children, the nursery duties are to include keeping all areas the children use clean and tidy (kitchen, bedrooms, children’s bathroom, playroom, etc.), helping to keep on top of the children’s laundry and providing them with healthy and nutritious meals each day. You will make sure they have everything they need for school the following day (packed lunch, sports kit, etc). You will also help the children with bath time at the end of the day, before handing them back to their parents.
You must be a careful and confident driver with a clean licence. There is a fully insured car available to use on duty.
