Summary

Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Thatcham | Up to £40,000 + Car Allowance

Family-owned main contractor based in Thatcham, delivering projects across commercial, industrial, defence, education, healthcare, leisure, community, and residential sectors.

Typical project values range from £750k to £5m, with larger schemes reaching up to £15-20m. The business has a strong reputation for quality and long-standing client relationships.

Seeking a degree-qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing growth. Experience in residential construction is welcome, and training will be provided to develop knowledge across other sectors.

The role will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents

  • Supporting the management of subcontractor packages, including procurement and payments

  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on variations

  • Helping to prepare interim valuations and final accounts

  • Working closely with site teams to ensure cost control and value for money

  • Attending site meetings and assisting with progress reporting
