Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as a SEND Teacher, predominantly based in our Alternative Provision space.
The successful candidate will:
• Be able to offer a range of core or foundation subjects at KS3 (English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, ICT etc).
• Help to engage students with both reading and writing (potentially Phonics based reading intervention work).
• Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
• Establish and maintain a safe environment and purposeful working atmosphere which supports learning and in which students feel secure and confident.
• Provide a nurturing environment for our SEND students.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• A committed and passionate view of students with SEND.
• Experience of working in a SEND/AP environment or similar unit/provision in either primary or secondary.
• QTS/QTLS.
• A track record of successful engagement with vulnerable young people.
• Great interpersonal/people skills and a nurturing approach; lots of energy and patience.

This is a fixed term 1 year post, with the potential for extension to a permanent post.
We have a new AP Lead and Inclusion Manager starting June 2025 to lead strategically on our alternative provision space; this is an exciting time to join our school and work in this area.
