We have an exciting opportunity for anenthusiastic andcommitted individual to join us as an apprentice on the Public Health Apprenticeship Degree programme, starting in September 2025.

About the role
During your apprenticeship, you will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively in public health by achieving a series of learning objectives to become a competent practitioner.
You will use your developing knowledge and skills to contribute to the implementation and delivery of health improvement programmes (some of which are commissioned to be delivered by providers) in a range of different settings and with specific groups of people in the local population.You will work collaboratively to project manage and deliver on aspects of Public Health priority workstreams.
You’ll spend around 20% of your time in formal learning and will get an additional 20% protected study time.The rest of the time you will be applying your learning from the academic element of the apprenticeship to day-to-day work within the Public Health team such as on placements or working on projects and other work-related tasks.
The degree course is run over 3 years and will take the form of 1 virtual study day a week at university and the rest of the time on placements, work and agreed study time. This is a big commitment and needs to be considered carefully.There will also be a requirement to attend university in person for assessments at the end of the course which will require travel into Bristol.
About you
For this apprenticeship, you must:
- Not have any degree or Masters and must not be in the process of completing a professional registration (e.g. UKPHR practitioner, nutrition, etc).
- Be an EEA citizen (with Right to Work in the UK and have resided in the UK in the last 3-year period) and not be in any otherkind of full-time education (including being enrolled on any other apprenticeship programme).
- Have Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English or GCSE at Grades C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Have a Level 3 qualification (BTEC, A levels) / 96 UCAS tariff points or above (or equivalent experience).
- Showcommitment to study and an awareness of the demands of the apprenticeship route.
- Possess excellentinterpersonal skills with the ability to converse at ease with a variety of colleagues and partners/stakeholders to influence and negotiate.
- Have experience and regular use of Microsoft Office applications and information research on the Internet, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams to at least an Intermediate level.
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication and presentation skills and be able to produce accurate written summaries of meetings, events, and conversations.
