Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Inspector to ensure the quality and integrity of our welding and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, along with experience in inspection and quality assurance.

The company specialises in precision fabrication and sheet metal work for the Aerospace, Marine, Nuclear, Defence and Oil & Gas Sectors.

Hours:

7:30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 1pm Friday.

Salary:

Up to £35k per annum depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate welded and fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications
• Monitor production processes to identify potential issues and recommend improvements
• Conduct visual inspections, non-destructive testing, and dimensional measurements
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all findings
• Collaborate with production team to address any quality issues and develop corrective action plans
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for welding and fabrication inspection

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong understanding of welding processes and fabrication techniques
• Certification in welding inspection or non-destructive testing is preferred
• Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for welding and fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Day-to-day

• Conduct visual inspections of welded and fabricated components on the production floor
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure compliance with specifications
• Collaborate with production team to address quality issues and implement process improvements
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all findings
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities
