1. Role Title: Accounts Assistant (Hybrid with MINIMUM of one day per week in Sheffield office)

2. Role Purpose
• To fully maintain the Sales and Purchase Ledgers including query resolution
• To be responsible for Credit Control
• Daily banking
• Bank reconciliations
• General ledger postings analysis and reconciliations
• Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of Month End Accounts

3. Key Tasks
(a) Take a proactive role in managing and collecting of debt by telephone and email
(b) Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices
(c) Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements
(d) Maintaining accurate records of all chasing activity
(e) Processing and posting daily banking transactions
(f) Prepare supplier payment run to terms
(g) Maintain bank accounts including monthly reconciliations
(h) Month end reporting including journal postings
(i) Liaise with external auditors for year end reporting
(j) Ability to provide absence cover for other finance departmental routines when
required (training provided)

B. PERSON PROFILE

1. Qualifications and Experience
▪ Demonstrated experience in an accounting admin role
▪ Experience of using Sage Line 50 desirable
▪ AAT (or equivalent) desirable

2. Skills
▪ Ability to work on own initiative
▪ Understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping
▪ Drive for accuracy
▪ Microsoft Office – strong excel capabilities essential
