We are looking for an inspirational and passionate teacher of History and Modern Studies to join our highly experienced team within our Social Subjects Faculty.

The successful candidate would have to demonstrate some experience of teaching and assessing certificate level classes and would have to offer flexibility and willingness in teaching BGE classes across the faculty. The Social Subjects Faculty offers pupils a wide range of activities to enhance their learning including homework and revision clubs as well as trips and the successful candidate should be someone who is keen to be involved in these activities.

As a valued member of our staff, you will have enthusiasm and the ability to plan flexible programmes of learning within your subject area which meet the specific needs of all learners. You should be confident, have a passion for History and Modern Studies and be able to demonstrate that you are an innovative practitioner.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
