An opportunity has arisen for two senior clinicians to join the new ELFT Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A) service. This is part of an exciting expansion of CAMHS specialist services within NCEL that align closely to national, regional and local health and care goals and objectives. The role is a 1-year fixed term opportunity (or possible secondment) with the aim of securing further extension into a permanent role with the successful implementation of the service. The post holders will work closely with the DBT Lead, leadership team, clinicians and managers across Tier 4 units, CAMHS and crisis teams, the NCEL Provider collaborative and other stakeholders.
Please note that the successful candidate for this position will be required to attend a five-day course titled "Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Intensive Training: Part 1" scheduled for the 4th to 8th of November 2024. The course will be conducted via Zoom. Part 2 of the course will take place between the 2nd and 6th of June 2024.
You will be compensated for the five days of training or can opt to take the time back as TOIL at a later date.
The Service will offer a full DBT assessment, treatment and consultation for Adolescents kn own to community CAMHS services within Newham, Tower Hamlets, City and Hackney. Full treatment comprises of a year-long treatment and includes weekly individual therapy sessions, weekly skills groups (for the young person and parent/carers) and access to telephone skills coaching. The service is operational Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, working closely with community CAMHS and sister services within the Alternative to Admissions Pathway to support young people through their journey to recovery.
The East London CAMHS DBT Service comprises of Administrators; DBT Support Worker; Specialist DBT Therapists; a DBT Clinical TeamLead andConsultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The team operates as a hub, in reaching to core community mental health services in Newham, City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets to provide specialist DBT assessment and treatment to Adolescents within the local area, holding a caseload of patients who have complex emotional needs associated with emerging and diagnosed personalist disorders.

The post-holder will work collaboratively as a member of this multi-disciplinary specialist community team to undertake psychotherapeutic assessments and deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to service users with complex emotional needs who present with high risk to themselves and/or others. The post holder will be required to participate in weekly in person team consultation meetings, and will offer specialist advice, supervision, training, and consultation to other professionals, teams and colleagues in the wider integrated care system to support the delivery of effective and efficient psychologically-informed care and treatment across the offer for people with complex emotional needs in East London
