An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist physiotherapist to join the multi-disciplinary pain management service at Queens Hospital. The appointee will work with the existing Pain Consultants, a Clinical Specialist Pain Physiotherapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a Consultant Psychologist, in delivering comprehensive assessments, treatments and Pain Management Programmes within a Multi-Disciplinary Team context. To have a key role in the delivery and development of the therapy aspect of the Chronic Pain Services and ensure they are consistent with the strategic objectives of the Trust and Division and will secure our position as a major national neurosciences and cancer centre.
You will be at the forefront of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering elements of our pain management programme, highly specialised physiotherapy clinics, joint clinics with Pain Physicians and Psychologists, leading our post intervention education and exercise programme, and involvement with the newly devised; Spinal cord stimulator modality pathway, across the BHRUH CCG locality.
To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and advice to patients within pain management outpatients. To facilitate and maximise patient potential within service boundaries.
To give highly specialist guidance and advice to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and General Practitioners (GP’s) on relevant matters as necessary.
To Provide leadership for the physiotherapy team, in conjunction with the Clinical Lead, in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the physiotherapy service provided to pain management out-patients on a day-to-day basis.
To provide a lead role in teaching, supervising and appraising peers, student physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and technical instructors on a daily basis within the outpatient setting.
To deputise in the absence of senior colleagues as required.
To contribute to the day to day running and development of the service through the promotion, adaptation and development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence-based practices and current research.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
