Summary

Distribution Centre Technical Team Leader

Location: Kettering

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am -5pm

Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum

Role Overview:

As a Technical Team Leader within the Distribution Centre, you'll play a key role in shaping and refining operational processes to drive efficiency and uphold exceptional service standards. Collaborating closely with the Distribution Centre Duty Manager, you'll support daily operations and guide frontline teams, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance. Your focus will include enhancing order accuracy, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a secure, smooth-running site.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Duty Manager to plan, allocate, and manage resources effectively in line with customer demand and operational priorities
Develop and monitor KPIs across departments, reporting on OTIF performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee health and safety procedures, facility maintenance, and ensure compliance with all operational and regulatory standards
Collaborate with the Sales Admin Team to ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded, with a focus on reducing lead times
Provide hands-on leadership to DC teams, offering coaching, training, and performance feedback to support development and maintain high standards
Manage quality assurance processes and customer returns, ensuring accuracy and efficiency are upheld at all times
Lead efforts to maintain accurate inventory levels and improve stock control practices across the site
Ensure the security of the site and compliance with all opening and closing protocols
Produce and share weekly performance reports with management, using insights to recommend and implement operational improvements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to interpret data and deliver insightful performance reports
Track record of working closely with Sales Admin teams to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
Demonstrated leadership in warehouse, logistics, or distribution settings, with a focus on team development and performance management
Excellent communicator skilled in coaching, feedback delivery, and team engagement
In-depth knowledge of inventory control, order fulfilment processes, and quality assurance standards
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Proficient in WMS (SNAP) and ERP (SAGE) systems
Sound understanding of health & safety, regulatory compliance, and site security procedures
Skilled in Microsoft Office 365, Power BI, and collaboration tools such as Slack (preferred)
