Summary

We are looking to recruit Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join the acute Therapy services within St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. These posts will provide an excellent opportunity for both new graduates and Band 5s with current post–registration experience to work with patients and clients who have a wide range of health conditions. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate in their application form and at interview: relevant hospital experience including skills in autonomous decision making, acute assessment, discharge planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Our current rotations include both hospital and community-based rotations which include Surgery, Vascular, Older People’s Services, Oncology/ Specialist Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Neurorehabilitation and Social Services. The successful candidates will rotate every six months at the beginning of April and October and will have the opportunity to work in various locations across Wandsworth.

You will carry a clinical caseload which will include; - assessment and treatment of patients within each service line for an array of conditions and to determine clinical reasoning and Occupational Therapy treatment in line with your case formulations - providing client centred occupational therapy to a defined caseload of service users, working with multi-disciplinary members and the wider occupational Therapy team. You will also have the opportunity to supervise support staff and engage with local service audit development projects and audits.
