Mid and South Essex Hospital Trust are looking to recruit a full time driver to work within the Transport Department, located at Broomfield Hospital. You may on occasion be asked to start from Basildon Hospital, Braintree Community Hospital or St Peters Hospital.
This role is on a fixed term basis, for three days per week working flexibly on the below shifts:
07:00 - 15:00
08:00 - 16:00
09:00 - 17:00
15:00 - 23:00
You will be able to drive a Luton van, with a tail lift around the Essex area on both planned and adhoc routes. This role requires safe manual handling and lifting of items.

• Collect and deliver various medical items on scheduled routes and adhoc routes in the Essex area. This includes but is not exclusive to Specimens, Medication, Patient Records, Post and machinery
• Collect and deliver sterile services equipment, both clean and dirty
• Responsible for refuelling vehicles and carrying out basic vehicle mechanical checks, at least once per week, covering oil, fuel, brake fluid, water, tyres, lighting, windscreen wipers/washers, batteries, changing tyres, maintain vehicle in a clean state inside and out and reporting accident damage
• Drive safely to national legal requirement
• To deliver training to new starters within the Transport department
