Job Title: Funding Manager

Direct Reports: Retail and Fundraising Managers
Location: Hybrid working with a mix of office time and some home working

Job Overview: To lead and develop a fundraising team to deliver a diverse funding pipeline for HSBFW.

Securing and maximising substantial funds and resources via a variety of means, including but not limited to:
• Securing Grants, Tenders and Contracts
• Public Sector Funding
• Donations through targeted communications
• Sponsorship from local businesses
• Retail Income
• Large fundraising events
• Major sponsorship campaigns
• Crowdfunding
• The use of online fundraising platforms


In this role you will have responsibility for:
Promoting the mission, vision and values of Home-Start Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre to a broad range of stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally.
Developing funding strategies, creating and implementing long-terms plans to maximize income to meet the organisation's financial needs.
Writing and submitting funding applications.
Developing and maintaining required reports for the CEO and Board of Trustees regarding decisions on funding outcomes and monitoring of targets.
Developing and implementing an annual fundraising plan to grow income, generate new leads and manage ongoing relationships.
Build external relationships with:
• Foundations, trusts and corporate funders, philanthropic organisations and individuals
• Other grant making charities
• Members of the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector, local community and local businesses

Achieve financial targets to ensure the organisation’s financial health.
Monitor and further develop the funding pipeline.
Lead, motivate and develop the Fundraising Team by setting objectives, managing performance and identifying development opportunities.
Work collaboratively with the wider HSBFW team to support fundraising.
Develop marketing material to highlight the work of the charity, the needs of our target beneficiaries and our latest fundraising campaigns.
Following Home-Start UK branding guidelines via PR, social media, web fundraising content and others.
Preparing and maintaining accurate reports, briefs and documents as required for the CEO and Board of Trustees, and to meet Quality Assurance responsibilities.
Maintaining a broad and detailed knowledge of family/child welfare, equity, social justice and child development to support fundraising applications.
Attending networking events and meetings as required, which may include out of hours work.
