Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team in providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and young people living in our residential home. This role is crucial in supporting children aged who may have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or have emotional and behavioral difficulties.
The ideal candidate will be committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people, helping them to achieve their full potential by providing day-to-day care, emotional support, and opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
Provide daily care and supervision, including meals, personal care, bedtime routines, and recreational activities
Support the emotional, behavioral, and social development of residents through therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
Promote education, training, and personal development, supporting attendance at school or other educational provisions
Keep accurate and up-to-date records including daily logs, incident reports, and care plans
Assist in implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and behavior support plans
Liaise effectively with families, social workers, education providers, and other professionals
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
Participate in household tasks including cleaning, cooking, and laundry
Support young people in building life skills to prepare for independence
Attend team meetings, training, and supervision sessions
Respond appropriately to challenging behavior using de-escalation techniques and in accordance with safeguarding procedures
