Salary: M3 (35,674) to U3 (49084) plus SEN 1 allowance As a Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at Longsight Community Primary, you will lead and manage Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across our inclusive, one-form entry school. You will be responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day operation of our SEND provision, working closely with children, staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure every pupil gets the support they need to thrive.
You will:
  • Be a qualified teacher, experienced in primary education, and passionate about inclusion.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination.
  • Have led areas of school improvement and understand how to use data to evaluate the impact of interventions.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to lead others in providing high-quality inclusive teaching.
  • Be an excellent communicator who works well with children, families, and staff, and can effectively coordinate with external services.
  • Be a confident, proactive team player who shares the values of the Big Life group and can contribute to a culture of equality, compassion, and ambition.
  • Need an enhanced level DBS check for this role.
