About the Role

Long Term Futures is currently working in collaboration with a pupil referral unit (PRU) in Leicester. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the setting on a full-time basis. This role involves supporting students aged 5 to 11 years old who have been referred to the setting due to being unable to access mainstream learning.

This position is available until the end of the academic year, with the potential to secure a permanent role directly with the school thereafter.​

Key Responsibilities
- Provide behaviour management and de-escalation support for students who have been removed from mainstream classrooms.​
- Work closely with students displaying challenging behaviours.​
- Implement effective behaviour strategies to promote positive engagement and self-regulation.​
- Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural needs.​
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistency in behaviour expectations and interventions.​

What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in a similar or relevant role - working with challenging behaviours.
- Understanding of the particular needs of vulnerable students, including those associated with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.​
- Ability to plan, implement, and monitor strategies and interventions.​
- An understanding of behaviour management and student needs is essential.
