Summary

The Role

As a Community Safety Officer specialising in Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, customer-centric housing services. You will be the key point of contact for residents, providing support and guidance on a wide range of housing-related concerns, both in the office and directly in residents' homes.

You will manage a dedicated patch of properties, working closely with residents to resolve complaints of anti-social behaviour, ensuring we maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone. You will investigate issues in line with service standards, enforce tenancy conditions, and consult with the Community Safety Manager to provide effective solutions that prioritize the needs and wellbeing of our residents.

Your role will also include offering advice and guidance, acting in the best interests of Lancaster City Council and ensuring our residents feel heard, valued, and supported throughout the process. Collaboration with your colleagues is key, and you will share your knowledge and expertise to deliver a seamless and comprehensive service that puts the customer first.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of national housing issues, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a flexible attitude to your work. Being computer literate, with experience in Microsoft Office, and having good organizational skills will also be essential. Previous experience in a customer-focused environment is crucial, and experience in ASB or social housing is an added advantage.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall and in the community.

Flexible working friendly – we offer hybrid working, a generous flexi-time scheme, and opportunity to work with your team to establish working hours to enable you to maximise your work-life balance.

A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will occasionally be required to undertake site visits. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
