AI Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: Fully Remote - Open to candidates worldwide
Salary: £125,000–£160,000 DOE + Equity + Benefits
Sector: AI / Computer Vision

Japan based company

A fast-scaling, venture-backed SaaS company is building an innovative AI platform aimed at revolutionising a multi-trillion-dollar global industry. With backing from leading venture capital firms in Japan and the US, the business has recently exited stealth mode and is entering a significant phase of product expansion and commercial growth.

We are now seeking an experienced AI Engineer specialising in Computer Vision to join a high-calibre engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge models, take ownership of end-to-end development, and contribute to the design of intelligent, scalable systems powering real-world innovation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development and machine learning engineering in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Proven experience deploying AI models in production (not just research) across real-world use cases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
  • Strong expertise in computer vision, generative models, and large-scale ML pipelines.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, diffusion models, fine-tuning, and techniques like LoRA.
  • Experience curating and utilising synthetic data for training and evaluation.
  • Infrastructure knowledge including AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform/OpenTofu.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Why Join:

  • Be part of a high-growth, international team transforming a globally significant industry through AI.
  • Work on cutting-edge CV and generative AI technologies in a highly autonomous and creative environment.
  • Enjoy the agility of a startup with the support of top-tier investors and a strong technical foundation.
  • Competitive salary, equity options, and long-term career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimise production-level AI models using CNNs, Transformers, and generative techniques (e.g., diffusion models, GANs).
  • Develop and deploy real-time and batch computer vision pipelines to support use cases such as object detection, document analysis, and synthetic data generation.
  • Experiment with, fine-tune, and operationalise open-source models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Stable Diffusion).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into core platform features.
  • Drive innovation by staying abreast of the latest trends in machine learning, LLMs, and generative AI.
  • Ensure responsible AI practices, including transparency, fairness, and scalability in production environments.
  • Optimise models for performance, cost, and deployment efficiency on modern compute infrastructure (GPU/CPU).

If you're excited to contribute to a visionary platform at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and global innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your CV and a brief note outlining your interest and relevant experience.
