Learning Technologist

1 FTE / 35 Hours per week; Grade 6, £29,605 - £36,024

Fixed term until 31st July 2025, hybrid working role, immediate start required

Who we’re looking for:
An experienced Learning Technologist with a demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality learning materials
A digitally capable individual with a strong working knowledge of learning technologies such as Canvas
A self-motivated person with a passion for creating high-quality, digital learning content in collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues across the organisation.

What you’d be doing:
Collaborating with academic and professional services colleagues to digitise and enhance learning content on Canvas for the apprenticeship bridging programme and the apprenticeship supervisory short course
Supporting the development of digital content and resources in line with the Curriculum Framework Review to improve teaching and learning experiences, via a range of learning technologies, including generative AI
Upon referral, offering one-to-one support to students in need of digital skill intervention upon referral, ensuring they have the necessary digital competencies for their academic success.

You’ll need to enjoy:
Supporting our students: we work to create an environment where our students can succeed in their degrees and chosen careers.
Leveraging technology for pedagogical innovation: we use available technology to improve the quality of our teaching and learning.
Collaborating and sharing ideas: we value input in all areas of the organisation and recognise expertise.
Working to your values: we care about how people behave as well as what they achieve.

Where you’ll work:
In this role, you’ll be based in the Learning & Teaching team, on our green campus in the north of Plymouth. You’ll be expected to work closely with colleagues in the Student Success Services Directorate and in each of our schools. Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will be required to maintain strong campus links and be available on-site at least 3 days per week.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Professor Jennie Winter on jwinter@marjon.ac.uk
