Summary
FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED (Folkestone)
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, we will be considering female applicants only for this post in accordance with the provisional of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010) pursuant to schedule 9 part 1
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced support worker/Personal Assistant to assist a 17 year old young lady to access arts and crafts and social opportunities for 8 hours per week.
Hours would be mutually agreed with occasional weekend hours could be either day and up to 3-4 hours to support her to access and engage in fun social opportunities.
Previous experience of ASD is important. Due to mobility issues, she does use a wheelchair sometimes. She can exhibit some challenging behaviour when she does not want to do something, normally sitting on the floor and refusing to move, so it is important to follow the clear and calm strategies which are in place and work well to motivate her.
A clean driving licence and use of your own car with correct insurance is essential to be able to take her to social activities.
Mum has a hearing impairment, and this makes it difficult for her to manage the situation well, so being able to support mum and communicate clearly is really important.
Rate of pay is £13 per hour. 4 weeks paid holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays is applicable, as is access to a workplace pension.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check (provided) and will start as soon as a clear check is received. This can be provided if you do not already have one.
