Summary

Main Purpose of the Role

Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job. It's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.

We currently have the following opportunity:

Head Teacher (PKC12523)
£73,110
Moncreiffe Primary School

We're looking for an inspirational Head Teacher to lead Moncreiffe Primary and it's aspirational staff team in achieving the best possible outcomes for all children within our school community. You will have a clear vision for the school’s future and be able to demonstrate the Perth and Kinross values of ambition, compassion and integrity.

As a strong leader, you will have previous experience of embedding school systems and practices to effectively achieve quality improvement priorities. As a lead learner, you will have a sound understanding of the key features of high-quality learning and teaching, meeting learners needs and raising attainment for all learners. This role provides the perfect opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to lead by example, inspire the staff team and build on the existing positive learning culture.

You will have strong inter-personal skills, which will enable you to manage relationships and successfully resolve conflict. Effective communication skills are essential in this role to ensure that all members of the school community feel fully involved in the life and work of the school and nursery.

Moncreiffe Primary School and Nursery is at the heart of the Moncreiffe Community within Perth City. We are situated in the south of the city, nestled underneath St Magdelene’s Hill, a local outdoor learning spot. We are close to the M90 motorway and accessible for all routes across Perth.

We are ‘The Moncreiffe Family’ and every child in our school and nursery has the opportunity to shine in our inclusive setting. Children have a strong pupil voice through our Pupil Leadership Groups and UNCRC work, which is embedded in our school values of Kind, Responsible, Safe and Fun. The dedicated Parent Council work together to successfully support our many improvements. Together, with the support of our dedicated staff, parents, and the wider community, we work to inspire children to reach their full potential and become confident, resilient, and caring individuals.

Moncreiffe Primary School celebrates each child as an individual, inclusive to their own strengths and learning need. We support, guide and teach, enabling children to be the best they can be. We aim to make Moncreiffe a happy, relaxed and hardworking learning and teaching environment, which supports each child’s achievement including the development of social, moral, spiritual and cultural values.

We believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued and supported. Our nurturing approach ensures that all children are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and actions. Above all, we strive to make learning an exciting, purposeful and enjoyable experience for every child.
