Do you enjoy creating and working with fabrics and different materials? Are you passionate about ships?
gap personnel Exeter are recruiting for a Sail Maker Mate on a fixed term contract for our client based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon.
You will be joining a leading company that provides Engineering Services to the Defence, Security, Nuclear and Emergency Services.
As a Sail Maker Mate you will be required to manufacture protective weather screens and covers. This is a safety critical role and successful candidates would need to be prepared to work shifts, and overtime to support the business needs.
About you:
- Background in Textiles or Fabrics (desirable not essential)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualifications in both English and Maths
- Ability to work in a team and use own intitiative
- Willingness to work at height or in confined spaces
- Previous experience in Boating or Dockyards is beneficial
Pay & Hours:
- £16.44ph, paid weekly
- Monday to Thursday (0730am – 1530pm) & Friday 0730am – 1230pm, 35hours per week.
Successful candidates we be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
