We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse to join our Senior Nursing team on the Cardiac Day Ward. They will lead by example, bringing their own experience to the role to guide and support their team and patients. The role is varied and requires someone who is adaptable, reliable and has a passion for Cardiology Nursing.

The main duties include the coordination of the Cardiac Day Ward including the elective patient flow from admission through to discharge, sometimes providing overnight care as well. There are acute cardiology patients as well who require preparing for invasive cardiology procedures alongside the elective patient caseload who need to be factored into the daily running of the area.

The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will work collaboratively with the Senior Nursing team in conjunction with the multi-professional teams who all have input into patient care on the unit.

They will be expected to deputise for the Band 7 during periods of leave and provide direct patient care. There will be managerial responsibilities and development in this area will be supported. Some of these duties include attending to Datix reports and the learning from these, dealing with PALS complaints and direct complaints and queries from patients and their relatives in real time as well.
