We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 or experienced band 5 OT to join our amazing integrated therapy team on a fixed term contract for 10 months. This role can be offered as a band 6 post or as a band 5/6 development post, for band 5applicants who are working towards gaining their competencies in paediatrics.
Asa Children’s OT, you will bepart of the Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy team under the direction of a Band 7 therapist. There will also be opportunities to shadow therapists in various settings, attend training sessions and develop your knowledge and skills within the wider school age therapy team.
As aCYPITOccupational Therapist, you willbe responsible forthe planning and management of your own school-age caseload and service delivery using an impact-based model of clinical decision making. The successful applicant may also have the exciting opportunity to be part of developing and delivering the therapy service within a specialist resource setting alongside Speech and Language Therapists and specialist teachers.
This role includes supporting children who attend mainstream schools and specialist resources in Reading and Wokingham.
• Provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex needs
• Opportunity to work alongside, and learn fromSensory Integrationtrained therapists
• Be involved in the implementation of training packages
• Function as a specialist autonomous clinician, supporting delivery of the CYPIT model, development of the CYPF and provide support to more junior staff
• Contribute to defined projects and service development initiatives as requested
• Maintainaccurateand contemporaneous clinical records

The “must haves” for this role:
1. Qualifiedband 5 or 6OccupationalTherapist, registered with HCPC
1. Experience(including placement experience)inworkingwith children or adults with complex or neurological needs
1. Car driver with ability and readiness to travel to multiple sites
