Summary
We have opportunities for a Radiology Department Assistant to join our dedicated team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
You will play a vital role in supporting both patients and Radiology staff.
The successful candidate is expected to work across our 3 hospital sites: Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital. Working hours include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
The post holder will assist in delivering high-quality radiology services, working collaboratively within a dynamic and supportive team while maintaining professional relationships across various hospital departments.

Duties will include:
• Welcoming all patients and service users to the department.
• Completing administrative processes and supporting patient flow through the department.
• Booking patients in for their examinations and directing patients to the relevant waiting areas.
• Answering telephone queries.
• Preparing examination rooms and equipment.
• Assisting the Radiologists, Radiographers and Radiology Nurses during procedures.
With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.

To deliver direct patient care, support equipment maintenance, and perform administrative tasks, including reception and clerical duties, to ensure a high-quality service for patients.
The post holder will contribute to maintaining the department’s professional standards and undertake a range of delegated radiography-related responsibilities.
Additionally, the role includes assisting with the transfer of patients to and from the Radiology department.
