The Opportunity:
The Vale lab is advertising a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position, funded by a BBSRC grant on the genetic and immune determinants and evolutionary constraints underlying individual variation in host infectiousness.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to flexible working patterns.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Experience and extensive knowledge of Drosophila rearing and genetics
Knowledge and previous experience in basic microbiology protocols, including the protocols of culturing, infecting, and quantifying bacterial pathogens.
Ability to manage and organise own time including prioritization of tasks within agreed work schedule
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport with colleagues and collaborators.
Understanding of the Health & Safety procedures, and safe lab practice.
