PRINCIPAL LIBRARY ASSISTANT - COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING (0.5 FTE) - GRADE 5

£29,179 - £33,482 pa (pro-rata)

The Research, Content and Discovery (RCD) section of Libraries, Museums and Galleries (LMG) aims to support the University’s research and teaching activities by acquiring and managing resources, as well as offering advice and guidance to staff and students. RCD is comprised of the following six teams: Licensing and Copyright, Content, Collections, Metadata, Subscriptions, Logistics/Shelving and Open Research.

Working within Licensing and Copyright team and reporting to the Licensing and Copyright Manager, we are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced person to provide support in ensuring our electronic resource and institutional licences are effectively managed, supervising services offered by the Licensing and Copyright Team. You will also support other workflows across areas of RCD, where appropriate.

Experience of copyright clearing items for digitisation to support teaching and learning, as well as the management of licences associated with electronic resources - including associated software - are important for anyone keen to apply.

To perform this role, you will need to have knowledge of:

- Both institutional and electronic resource licenses in Higher Education.
- Copyright clearance and reading list software.
- Copyright law and how it affects Higher Education institutions in utilising resources for teaching and research.

You should have 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English.

This is a part-time post, 17.5 hours per week between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
