Tamworth Borough Council is seeking an exceptional communications and engagement professional to drive community engagement and cohesion across our vibrant borough.

The successful candidate will play a lead role in developing and implementing communication campaigns that foster understanding, connection, and positive change within our community.

Moreover, you will be instrumental in direct community engagement, working to bridge gaps, build trust, and actively participate in local communities to deliver meaningful conversation.

The ideal candidate will be a creative and adaptable communications expert with a proven track record of developing compelling narrative strategies. You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Communications and the Assistant Director for Partnerships to create innovative engagement approaches that resonate with diverse audiences.

Your role will involve crafting engaging content across multiple platforms, including digital media, video, and photography, ensuring that our communications are inclusive, accessible, and impactful. Through hands-on interaction at events, partnerships with local groups, and targeted outreach, you’ll also work to build genuine connections that empower residents and strengthen the social fabric of Tamworth.

We are looking for an individual with excellent organisational skills, the ability to work independently, and a talent for analysing data to inform targeted communication and engagement strategies. The role requires someone who can positively influence perceptions, manage complex projects, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards.

The position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in Tamworth, with responsibilities that include developing behaviour change campaigns, utilising social media effectively, and representing the council at various events. You will need to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, creative thinking, and the ability to develop content that speaks to different audience segments.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building constructive relationships with stakeholders, including residents, staff, councillors, voluntary groups, and partners. A background in marketing, media, or communications is also preferred.
