The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has a clear mission - to grow the economy. Our role is to help businesses invest, grow and export to create jobs and opportunities right across the country.
The Departmental Security function’s role is to protect the DBT's people and assets from those who wish to damage it. We do this by building a diverse team with expert, generalist, and entry level roles to work together to solve the challenges we face. This mix allows us to develop talent and to benefit from a wide range of life experiences. This role sits within the Departmental Security's Information Assurance (IA) Hub.
The IA Hub is a function providing stakeholders with a data-led view of DBT’s information risk exposure. It achieves this through securing the relevant data points from key control processes across DBT in combination with HMG and open-source intelligence to support in providing consumable reporting products to key stakeholders.
This role will support the Head of the IA Hub with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) management. You will be a key link between the team and stakeholders in the wider department. The role entails:
- Supporting with risk identification and data analysis from a diverse range of qualitative information and quantitative data.
- Leading in behavioural insights for the IA Hub, keeping knowledge relevant in support of reporting products.
- Co-lead with business process analysis by identifying gaps in information security and assurance processes and support in implementing the appropriate processes to enable the function to carry out its responsibilities.
- Supporting the head of the function in identifying, securing and standardising all information assurance data points that are salient to stakeholder reporting.
- Supporting the IA Hub in producing the functions reporting products.
- Liaise where required to provide input, advice and guidance on information security.
- Support with the development, management and review of departmental security policies. Identify policy gaps and ensure alignment with other cross-cutting departmental policies.
- Supporting with security governance and working with stakeholders to manage risks associated with information assets.
- Supporting with mailbox enquiries and incident management.
- Providing ad hoc support to areas of the wider security team as and when required.
