Summary
To design and deliver a comprehensive psychology service within University Hospital Lewisham acute and community settings including young adult services. The post holder is expected to work 4 days a week (0.8WTE) To offer highly specialised psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions (both group and individual as required (face to face and by telephone/video) to young adults living with diabetes and other complex physical and psychological health needs (e.g., eating disorders), including risk management. To support the diabetes and Transition young adults (YA) teams with psychological aspects of their work with patients and families/carers, offering consultation, group supervision, joint working and training as required. Develop pathways and protocols for all levels of emotional and psychological support of patients, carers and relatives. To develop innovative ways to capture and disseminate psychological information to encourage self-management. To develop a programme of audit, evaluation and research, offering opportunities to Psychology Doctorate Trainees and other aspiring Psychologists from local courses, as appropriate. Support, supervise and manage junior psychologists as appropriate. To be a teaching and training resource to local Psychology Training programmes, and other training events as required.
