What is great about the role?
Our fantastic team at Furnace Banc work with and support people over 25 who have experience of the criminal justice system and offending behaviour. We offer a space for clients to develop by creating an atmosphere that allows positive change.
As a Scheme Support Officer, you will be working within the offenders hubs. You will inspire, challenge and enable the people who access our services to lead successful and independent lives. We need you to work flexibly as part of the team to develop, implement and review high-quality person-centred support plans based on individual needs, preferences and aspirations.
Your day will consist of:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management, health, and wellbeing
Supporting the client according to the support plan specifically tailored to each client
Welfare checks
Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
Reception duties
Dealing with challenging behaviours and responding to arising needs
Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role as this service delivers intensive support around each client’s recovery before focus is put on the housing related support and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour.
This opportunity can be a steppingstone to a rewarding career in support. You will act as a first point of contact and a role model. You’ll be able to build on existing skills and knowledge to help the people we support gain independence into their own accommodation. It’s a unique and exciting project where you will be a part of something special.
You will act as a first point of contact and a role model for people we support. You will build positive relationships by helping them make a transition into independent living and advise on move on options. This role requires flexibility along with enthusiasm, motivation, and creativity. You need the ability to work on your own initiative. This role is for a passionate individual who believes they can make a difference to the people we support. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
Deal with difficult situations
Have good listening skills
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence and access to a vehicle.

Full Time Equivalent salary: £24,531.00
Our service is 24/7 and we have a rolling rota which includes wakeful nights, days, afternoons and weekends.
26 days holiday, pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays
