We are seeking a Chef Manager for our home's kitchen on a full-time contract - based in Hoddesdon.

What does this Chef Manager job involve?
As a Chef Manager you will be responsible for:
• Providing homely meals for our residents, meeting a diverse range of dietary requirements.
• Planning staff rotas which are appropriate for the kitchen workload and arrange cover for planned absences, using existing and casual staff.
• Organising every aspect of the catering operation within the home to provide a safe, nutritious, cost effective quality service to all customers.
• Ensuring all statutory training takes place.
• Ensuring regular stock takes occur and that stock is maintained at minimum agreed levels.
• Communicating with all customers on a regular basis, whenever possible.
• Managing the catering budget and producing financial information relating to performance against the budget on a monthly basis.

• The ability to plan, prepare, cook and serve nutritious well-balanced and varied meals including special dietary needs.
• A recognised professional catering qualification.
• Good organisational and team leadership skills.
• The ability to manage own time and resources.
• The ability to forward plan, keep accurate records and maintain stocks.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety practices in the workplace
• Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate and the desire and ability to develop new skills
• General awareness of Health and Safety legislation and safe food handling and hygiene regulations.
