Summary
The Dame Clare Marx Building houses our elective orthopaedic centre (ESEOC) with a focus on elective orthopaedic surgery and day cases. The centre has eight laminar flow theatres, three wards, recovery facilities, and support services including radiology and EBME.
We are looking for an efficient, conscientious, well-motivated and enthusiastic Admissions Coordinator with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and administrative teams. In this role, you will assist clinical staff in delivering an effective booking service to our patients.
Please note, this is a fixed term/secondment position until 17th October 2025. Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.
• Proactively managing the waiting times for individual patients and inpatient waiting lists to ensure national standards and KPIs are not breached
• Liaise with pre-operative assessment and ensure appointments are arranged with sufficient lead in time prior to surgery/procedure. To check with pre-operative assessment if the patient is not recorded as fit on for surgery, ensure that the consultant is aware of any potential delays that may affect the patient’s operation date. If a patient requires further investigations prior to surgery ensure that these are chased up.
• Complete all administrative activities associated with theatre schedulers
