Summary
A wonderful family based in Highgate, London is looking for a Part-time Governess to help them in looking after their three school-aged children. The family is looking for a nurturing, dedicated and qualified governess to care for and provide educational support to the children. The ideal candidate will have a warm, patient demeanour, be highly organised, and have a passion for early childhood education and primary school subjects. The role will involve both care and structured learning in a home environment, promoting the children's academic development, social skills, and emotional well-being.
A valid first aid qualification is a requirement for this role.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, approximately 16 hours per week
Duties include:
Supervise and engage with the children in a safe, secure, and loving environment
Develop and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity
Focus on foundational learning (language, math, early literacy, basic science, motor skills)
Support with school homework, revision, reading, and other academic subjects as required
Create a fun, engaging curriculum and learning plans tailored to the children's interests and developmental stages
Provide positive reinforcement and implement age-appropriate disciplinary strategies to help guide behaviour
Regularly update parents on the children’s progress, development, and any concerns
Maintain an open line of communication with the family to ensure a collaborative approach to the children's care and education
