Corporate Services Group / Accommodation, Catering and Events (Location: Pollock Halls of Residence)

Grade UE02 £22,995 - £23,028 per annum (pro rata if part time), plus 5% premium band to reflect flexible working

Fixed term: May 2025 to September 2025

Part time and full time roles available: 30 - 35 hours per week, on a 5 over 7 basis including weekends (varied shift patterns, typically between 8am and 6pm)



The Opportunity:

During the summer, Pollock Halls of Residence welcomes visitors from around the globe. We are seeking enthusiastic and positive individuals to join our busy housekeeping team. You will provide a flexible, customer-focused service across our accommodation, playing a key role in maintaining excellent standards of cleaning and customer care for all our visitors and guests.

As a Summer Housekeeping Coordinator, you will be involved in distributing tasks to our teams of domestic assistants/cleaners, checking that our accommodation and facilities meet our high standards of cleanliness as well as ensuring that our customers’ needs are met and guests enjoy a comfortable stay at all times. You will also be responsible for cleaning to a high standard bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and public areas within your remit.

You should possess excellent organisational skills and have previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality. A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering excellent service are essential. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of colleagues and customers are required. Experience in workload allocation to team members is essential. Supervisory skills are desirable

This post will be appointed at Grade UE02, step 2 which is £22,995 per annum (pro rata if part time), plus 5% premium band to reflect flexible working.

Please note that this role requires weekend work on a rota basis for the duration of your contract.

You must be able to commit to the entire fixed term period of employment.



Your skills and attributes for success:

Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
Experience in supervising staff and able to allocate workload efficiently to meet daily targets
Flexibility to work varying shift patterns and hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods, as required by business operations
Experience in providing outstanding cleaning/housekeeping services
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions & communicate in a professional manner
