We are developing GIS services within the Local Plans Team and across the partnership of authorities (City of Lincoln, North Kesteven District and West Lindsey District Councils) and we need technical support for this transition and to help shape the service, and to help realise the ambitions of a number of GIS-based projects.
We are seeking a GIS Project Officer for a period of two years to support activities using ArcGIS and associated software apps. This includes supporting the Local Plans Team in delivering projects including the production of a Design Code, undertaking site assessments, and other spatial analysis and presentation of information.

The role will also involve supporting teams at the Central Lincolnshire partner authorities in exciting projects using ArcGIS, revolutionising how GIS us used across Central Lincolnshire. The role will also input into a GIS strategy for the Local Plans Team and the partner authorities, helping to shape a best practice service for the area.

The successful candidate will be experienced and ambitious with a passion for GIS and what it can deliver, particularly in the public sector, and with good knowledge and understanding of the functionality of Esri products.

Job Requirements:
• Degree in a course with a strong spatial data component or at least 5 years relevant work experience
• Understanding of managing data both internally and from external sources and legislation relevant to GIS
• Understanding of ArcGIS services and products and how they can be applied to various situations
• Good interpersonal skills in supporting officers with varying capabilities in delivering their projects
• Ambition to deliver excellence using creative solutions

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the Local Plans Team’s data and account and creation of guidance where needed
• Working independently, and supporting other officers, on various GIS projects
• Working directly with Esri to deliver funded projects
• Contributing to a corporate GIS Strategy and business case

Key Attributes:
• Creative and ambitious to deliver high quality outcomes in GIS
• Driven and good at working solo and as part of a team
• Highly organised, dynamic and confident

In return for your commitment and skills we offer the chance to develop your career in an organisation with Investors in People status. The role benefits from agile working, a healthcare cash plan, and a paid professional subscription where chartered. We will consider requests for flexible and /or part-time working.
