Summary


An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a full time post as a Rehabilitation Instructor in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatients team within the Peterborough and Wisbech locality. At times, dependent on the service demand you may be asked to work in other Dynamic Health locations.

The role involves working alongside the physiotherapy and Specialist service integrated team to enhance the patients’ rehabilitation, recovery and outcomes providing the next steps in physiotherapy treatment, through motivating and advising patients of effective management strategies.

The candidate would be responsible for their own case load of patients for exercise based rehabilitation, as well as leading rehabilitation classes and pain management groups, as well as the development of our service.

Applicants are required to have a strong profile of qualifications which may include but not exclusive to a sports/physiology related degree providing a strong exercise physiology background and/or a level 3 personal trainer qualification and follow up/ongoing relevant CPD qualifications, and evidence of training in rehabilitation and exercise referral prescription.

Role requires an in-depth exercise based knowledge of anatomy and physiology. We will look for evidence that applicants have studied a high level of human anatomy and physiology and demonstrated its application through having previous experience of exercise rehabilitation in both an individual and class based setting.

To work alongside the musculoskeletal physiotherapy team to implement service provision for patients to access appropriate exercise programmes. To motivate and advise patients on the correct exercise management and being responsible for their own caseload of patients.

Leading rehabilitation and education based classes, including pain management, Osteoarthritis and strength and conditioning. Providing high quality therapy service in the outpatient MSK department.

RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE

To undertake the provision of rehabilitation classes for problems such as but not limited to: Osteoarthritis, spinal pain and chronic pain management. Have knowledge of exercise prescription, advice and education using various strategies to modify and improve patient performance during treatment sessions in both a group setting and on an individual basis, promoting self-management of their condition.

To hold responsibility for own caseload working without direct supervision and in doing so being able to perform re-assessments of patients by questioning, observing and measuring patients abilities and needs.

To work flexibly within a team structure under the supervision of qualified members of staff. Providing a high standard of therapy service to patients in the outpatient department.

To use clinical judgement on a daily basis to evaluate patient progress including the recording of subjective and objective measurements.

To conduct mobility assessments and provide appropriate walking aids as required.

Independently co-ordinate, implement and progress rehabilitation groups.

To be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and stock control of materials and equipment within the rehabilitation setting.

To provide care and dignity to patients at all times, whilst taking into account the individual needs of the patient.

To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up to date documentation adhering to the standards of practice determined by CCS.

To demonstrate a high level of physical skills requiring accuracy and dexterity.

To promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy treatment and therefore ensure a consistent approach to patient care.

To link with exercise referral schemes and other agencies promoting health and wellbeing.

To demonstrate confidence in reporting regularly on patient progress and non-clinical incidents.

To be responsible for the safe and competent use of gym equipment, patient appliances and aids used by patients.
