As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo in Hurstpierpoint College, 'Hurst Street', Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9JS (Limited bus service so must drive), you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a major part of everyone's everyday experience.

What You’ll Do:
Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard:
Floors & Walls
Bins – inside and out
Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes
Fridges & Freezers (with assistance from chefs)
Delivery areas
Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
Transport provisions, equipment and other catering related items as required.
Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations governing your work, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
Report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor.
Ensure that all food is prepared in the environment with due care and attention particularly in regard to customers special dietary requirements; for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies.
What You Bring:
Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
Basic food-handling skills.
Ability to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
No previous work experience required.
