A Vacancy at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

The Health Innovation Network (HIN) South London is one of the 15 HINs in England. We are the bodies uniquely established to connect NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry, in order to increase the spread and adoption of innovation across large populations, at pace and scale. As a membership organisation, we are part of a vibrant but complex system of innovation nationwide and across London, working in collaboration with strategic partners in south London to help the NHS and care system innovate and improve.

We are seeking a dynamic Programme Director for our Insights team, a team who are passionate about using evaluation, data analytics and health economics to improve our health and care systems, deliver impact and improve health equity.

Insights and evidence are key to the HIN accelerating research and innovation into practice. HIN Insights deliver our data analytics, evidence synthesis, service evaluation and health economics functions. The team supports health and care teams across London, and nationally, to understand the impact of introducing innovations – from new technologies to the redesign of services – on patients and the public, health and care professionals, and the wider system. Providing evaluation support is also key for our role in the spread and adoption of evidence-based interventions.

The HIN Insights team is particularly strong in evaluating the impact of digital innovations and is an essential partner for Digital Health London. We ensure that our system partners and clients benefit from a highly professional practice in implementation science, rapid evaluation, and increasingly health economics consultancy.

The successful candidate is expected to lead significant growth and diversification in our consultancy activity, securing funding from a range of funders, and collaborating with our diverse and multi-disciplinary academic community to do so.

Excitingly this post has as important role in the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, delivering and monitoring a new implementation and knowledge mobilisation strategy along with other leaders in the ARC. The HIN’s Programme Director Insights will have a key responsibility for the HIN’s relationship with the research community in London and nationally.

The successful candidate will report to the HIN Medical Director. They will regularly update the HIN Executive and Board regarding Insights, and the NIHR ARC South London Board on research implementation and knowledge mobilisation.

Theaward-winningHINis a vibrant and exciting place to work. We are hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust, so staff enjoy the benefits of being part of the NHS. We have a HIN wellbeing offer which includes yoga, a book club, lunchtime walks, and regular social events, and our HIN Academy provides fantastic training to upskill staff.

As part of the HIN adaptable working principles, which enables us to adapt to anticipated changes in project portfolios and gives staff the opportunity to enhance their skills and expertise, the successful candidate may be asked to operate across other themes. The Insights team is currently working in a hybrid fashion, and the postholder is expected to be available to work from our office near Waterloo or at client/stakeholders sites elsewhere in London on any working day.
