Summary

SALARY: £27,715 FTE / Approx. £22,324 Annual Salary for Term Time Hours (Grade 5) + Benefits

LOCATION: Bristol, South West England (BS16)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (Term Time Only)

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week


JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Pre-School HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant with HLTA status or equivalent qualification or experience, who is inspirational and innovative with good literacy and numeracy skills and experience working with children with additional learning needs.

Working as the Pre-School HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be working exclusively in the pre-school, you will support learning, provide engaging activities, and help create a positive start to each child’s educational journey.

As the Pre-School HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will inspire children, support their development, and work closely with teachers and families.


DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Pre-School HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will include:

• Support child learning by acting as a role model, meeting personal needs while encouraging independence

• Assisting children with special educational needs through specific programs and individual education plans (IEHCPs)

• Ensure compliance with child protection, health, safety, and data protection policies

• Participate in ‘out of school’ activities and professional development opportunities


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification or experience

• Excellent level of literacy and numeracy skills or qualifications to NVQ level 2 English and Maths

• Experience of working with children with additional learning needs

• Ability to understand the role of parents and carers, with the ability to relate and build excellent working relationships

• Ability to observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on pupils progress

• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school
