G04 - £29,093 – 31,586 pro rata
30 Hours per week term-time only
Fixed term contract until 31/03/2026 - further extension may be possible, subject to successful grant funding applicationAn exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our Gypsy and Traveller children and young people, working as a specialist support officer within an established Traveller Education team. Together we work to support Gypsy and Traveller pupils to reach their full potential and to access their legal right to education. This is an unusual, interesting and varied position working with a culturally rich and diverse community.The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, empathetic and have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and professionals. Prior experience of working with ethnic minority pupils is desirable, as is experience of delivering successful literacy and pastoral interventions.Transporting pupils and families may form part of the role, so a full driving licence and business insurance is required.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check.
