Basic DBS required for this role.
Key Requirements:
Experience of processing housing benefit claims
Previous experience in housing benefits, welfare administration, or social housing is highly desirable.
Knowledge of relevant housing benefit legislation and welfare systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
Experience using housing benefits software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housing Benefits Admin Officer to join our team. In this vital role, candidates will be responsible for assessing and processing housing benefit claims, ensuring that residents receive the support they are entitled to under relevant housing and welfare regulations. You’ll be part of a dynamic team committed to providing high-quality service to our community and ensuring that claims are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess housing benefit applications and ensure that claims comply with current legislation and policies.
Provide clear advice and guidance to claimants and landlords regarding eligibility, documentation, and the claims process.
Process claims promptly and accurately, identifying any discrepancies or potential fraud.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records for all applications and correspondence.
Handle customer inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner, offering support throughout the claims process.
Work with other departments and agencies as needed to resolve complex or outstanding issues.
