We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Compliance Officer for Fire Safety and Asbestos (Gr I) to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant fire safety standards and asbestos regulations. You will conduct thorough inspections, audits, and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions. As a Compliance Officer, you will work closely with various departments to develop and implement effective policies and training programs related to fire safety and asbestos management. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance with fire safety and asbestos regulations.
Prepare comprehensive reports detailing compliance status, inspection findings, and recommendations for improvement.
Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on fire safety protocols and asbestos handling procedures.
Collaborate with management to establish and maintain policies and procedures related to fire safety and asbestos management.
Monitor changes in legislation and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and update internal policies accordingly.
Investigate any incidents or non-compliance issues related to fire safety or asbestos exposure and recommend corrective actions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding fire safety and asbestos-related inquiries.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety management, or a related field.
Professional certification in fire safety and asbestos management is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, safety, or environmental management.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal fire safety and asbestos regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify compliance issues and recommend solutions.
Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and documentation to support compliance efforts.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey safety protocols and compliance information to diverse audiences.
Hours Per Week: 22.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £27.14
