We are looking for an Assistant Registrar, to join our experienced team at Coychurch Crematorium.

Working with the other Assistant Registrar and the two Senior Assistant Registrars, this position provides support to the Bereavement Services Manager and Registrar in daily management, registration, administration and bereavement advice duties, to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered to the public at all times. You will provide clerical support to assist with the smooth running of the office, buildings and grounds on a daily basis, in a manner which fully meets the needs of the varied service users.

Your daily duties will include answering the telephone, maintaining a computerised database, processing statutory cremation documentation, inputting back records and general clerical duties. Additionally, you will be advising the public on the various services and memorial options provided by the Crematorium and Cemeteries. You will have daily contact with members of the public who may be distressed following bereavement as well as Funeral Directors, Clergy and other service users, therefore you must have a sensitive and mature approach, good communication skills, a sympathetic and understanding manner and the ability to demonstrate excellent customer care skills.

IT skills including Microsoft Office packages will be required. With an aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail, you will be organised and be able to work under pressure and unsupervised.

You will be a team player with a tactful approach to problem solving and have a positive attitude towards the provision of a high quality service that meets nationally recognised standards and is delivered in a caring and sensitive manner. You will be fully office based at Coychurch Crematorium, working core hours Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work additional hours according to the needs of the service.
