Caretaker

Base: Plymouth (based at St Matthew’s CofE Primary and Nursery School, Plymouth)

Permanent, 5 days a week, 42 weeks a year.

Pay scale: St Christopher’s SC3 6-9, starting salary £22,157 (£25,183 FTE) Pay award pending

St Christopher’s is looking for a Caretaker who can:

deliver excellent H&S, Caretaking and maintenance to multiple sites

You will help manage the maintenance and caretaking needs of Schools in Plymouth and have the flexibility to assist other schools and caretakers in the West Devon area.

be hands on with maintenance issues

You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues and will need to have competency in DIY and maintenance.

work with a team

Reporting to an Estates Lead you will be part of a small, passionate Estates team who work to create great learning environments in our 21 primary and infant schools.

be responsible for keeping our schools safe and compliant

You will support a large Primary School in Plymouth. But also, be flexible enough to support and divide your time to help other schools with your expertise.

take a lead and show initiative

You will be a solution focussed, values-driven individual who is able to communicate well with contractors and staff. You will have a ‘hands on’ approach to maintenance tasks and understand the level of statutory compliance required.
