Summary
Key responsibilities of a vehicle mechanic:
Must have experiance in fitting tyres
Fault diagnosis: Identifying the source of vehicle problems using visual inspections, diagnostic tools, and test drives.
Repairs and maintenance: Replacing worn or damaged parts like brakes, tires, batteries, engine components, and performing regular servicing like oil changes and filter replacements.
Customer interaction: Explaining repair needs to customers and addressing concerns.
Road testing: Checking if repairs have been completed successfully by driving the vehicle.
Technical knowledge: Staying updated on new vehicle technologies and repair procedures.
Skills required for a vehicle mechanic role:
Mechanical aptitude: Understanding how vehicle systems work and how to troubleshoot issues
Hand dexterity: Ability to use tools precisely and safely
Problem-solving skills: Identifying the root cause of problems and finding effective solutions

• To undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard.
• Carry out all work completely and effectively whilst adhering to manufacturer’s scheduled times to maintain efficiency
