Summary
Through close working with our Subject Matter Leads (SMLs), as well as Fire Services across the country, National Operational Guidance (NatOG), other Emergency Services and other relevant partners or stake holders, you will oversee and lead on the architectural design, development, customisation and integration of educational packages within the recently upgraded learning management system (LMS).
You will also lead and manage a small team, establishing best practice, providing clear direction and confident leadership against milestones set for the team.
This vacancy has an expected start date of early – mid June 2025.
Some of the things you’ll be doing
Create and manage a learning delivery strategy for the Operational Assurance (OA) team, with overall responsibility for learning linked to the NatOG implementation program and OA team.
Create and manage educational packages to upskill end users and promote knowledge and skills development against the program and delivery timeframes.
Provide strategic advice to, and link effectively with, AF&RS’s Learning and Development (L&D) managers and their team/s, ensuring learning needs are aligned across all work streams/departments and all guidance-based learning is embedded fully.
Manage the development of learning content and delivery methods that are effective for a wide range of end user needs, learning styles and in line with current adult education best practice using own team and the assistance of others where required.
Arrange and ensure our products are peer-reviewed. Also, conduct a learning-focused peer review of products from other FRS and agencies.
Manage the Digital Education and Systems Team, taking on responsibilities for day-to-day tasking, supervision and support, motivation and development in order to provide a high quality service.
Build collaborative relationships with other fire and rescue services (FRS), organisations and agencies to share information, best practice and learning products.
Represent the OA Team and attend national, regional or internal meetings and e-learning events as required, reporting back as needed, in order to keep fully up to date with latest developments.
Carry out any additional responsibilities as reasonable and appropriate, as agreed with line manager.
