Salary: Starting Salary is £44,711 (Level one) rising to £47,754 (Level four) ‘pro rata for part-time’

About the Role

The role of an SEN Casework Officers requires you to manage casework and achieve effective outcomes for children and young people with the most significant complex special educational needs within a defined geographical area. Facilitate and lead a multi-agency approach according to the Children and Families Act 2014, with partner agencies. You will have the ability to devise, implement and monitor cost effective individual alternative education programmes for those children and young people with the most complex needs. A main focus of the role is to ensure that EHCPs are of a high quality and completed and issued within statutory timeframes defined within the Children and Families Act. Candidates will also be required to represent the LA at Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunals (SENDIST) and prepare and submit the LA’s Statement of Case.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of meeting the statutory duties relating to SEND EHCP processes
  • Have exceptional organisations skills, with the ability to process large amounts of information and manage large and complex caseloads.
  • The ability to negotiate with senior leaders to ensure pupils are included within mainstream educational placements
  • Be resilient and have the ability to work in high pressure situations.

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
